It was very exciting to go out to the Cengage website and see that the 2nd edition of Discovering Biological Psychology was officially announced. This project has been very near and dear to my heart, and has occupied a great deal of my time over the last couple of years. I have been very fortunate to have the help of Mary Falcon, my development editor, and the support of my family. I’m really excited to join the Cengage family after their purchase of my original publisher, Houghton Mifflin Higher Ed.

If you’re wondering why we chose the cover art, here’s the deal. The photo is actually an infrared thermograph, which illustrates relative heat from objects. We thought it captured a basic theme of biological psychology–the biology underlying the behavior. Enjoy!
