Well, not much progress to report since Friday. My blog is okay, Karen’s is half okay (it’s visible, but she can’t update), and Roger’s can’t be seen or modified. Roger did heroic work putting my sidebar back in shape after we upgraded our blog software. This was no small feat.

Dealing with my ISP reminds me of my days as an Emergency Room admitting clerk. One needs to speak up, or you will languish in the corridor. On the other hand, you don’t want to be so vocal that staff get mad and ignore you on purpose. It’s a fine art. So I check my support ticket regularly and “bump” the techies a couple of times per day, and keep my fingers crossed. So much for “we’re here for you 24/7.”

In the meantime, I find the emotional response to being “cut off” to be unpleasant and distracting. I suppose that’s the point of hacking a non-commercial site in the first place–to cause pain to others just because you can. We may have new technologies, but psychopathy is a constant in the human species. It’s just finding new avenues for expression.
