Given my outcome on the EQSQ scale, not to mention my addiction to Zelda on the Wii, I think I qualify as a bona fide geekette. Shopping for the geeks you love can be challenging, as of course, we buy every electronic gizmo at top price the minute it comes on the market.
But here is the solution…..ThinkGeek! You can find a whole host of unusual gifts for your special geek or geekette. My favorite is the WiFi Detector Shirt. Given the spotty coverage of our WiFi network at Cal Poly, I spend a lot of time figuring out whether or not I need to pull my clunky cable out of my backpack at the start of class. This shirt glows with the strength of the local signal, taking all guesswork out of the equation! True, my students might get tired of me wearing the same shirt every day (maybe I need several–they don’t appear easy to wash), but professors are not always fashion plates anyway.
I don’t think this test will replace the EQSQ test anytime soon, but if you get the joke on the shirt below, I think it’s safe to say that your SQ score is likely to be pretty high….
Happy Shopping!
