Currency Analysis of
Discovering Biological Psychology

Given the speed with which new information is becoming
available in the neurosciences, currency is a critical feature
of any text in this area. Conversely, we don't want to be
so dazzled by new research that we include conclusions that
will not stand the test of time.

Discovering Biological Psychology was designed to present a
mix of classic studies and carefully selected "cutting edge" work.

Of our approximately 1200 references, 67% were published
in 1990 or later. The distribution of these references is

As most of you know, production on a text like this
requires approximately one year. I appreciate the
patience of the Houghton Mifflin staff as they politely
explained to me why I had to stop adding new stuff.
